Teaching Garden Update 7/31

We sent out another donation this week to The Black Feminist Project, this weeks donation included...

Hot Peppers, Tomatoes, Tomatillos,

Kale, Collard Greens, Basil,

Potatoes, Swiss Chard, Eggplant, Zucchini, and Cucumbers (not pictured) for a total of just over 130 pounds of produce!

We have been working hard in the Teaching Garden laying down mulch in our paths to help prevent weeds

In the picture above you can see (in order from closest to furthest away) our newly germinated beans (next to the yellow Marigolds), our flourishing Tomatillo plants, our Okra which just started producing fruits this week, our Tomatoes, our Kale (a little hard to see behind the Tomatoes), our Collard greens, our berry bushes, and our beautifully trellising Concord Grapes next to our Paw Paw tree.

Here we have our Pepper plants in the first two rows, Eggplants behind them, and Tomato plants behind them. Our garden is growing strong!

Don't forget you can visit the Teaching Garden on Weekends from 12pm to 4pm! Make sure to reserve your spot on the ferry by following this link.

Beautiful images of a bountiful harvest for the needy. Great work by the Teaching Garden Team at GrowNYC.
